Seven killed, two injured in Ogun road crash

A fatal multiple-vehicle crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway claimed seven lives and left two others injured early Monday. The incident occurred around 12:03 am near Kara, involving a white HOWO CNG/CIMC ENRIC truck, a white MACK trailer, and a Mitsubishi Canter.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) reported that all nine individuals involved were male. The FRSC's Ibafo Outpost Command responded within minutes of receiving the report. Preliminary findings suggest that excessive speed was a contributing factor, though further investigation is pending.

Sadly, seven persons were killed, while two persons sustained injuries.

Victims were evacuated by the Ogun State Ambulance Service, and the injured received medical treatment. The crashed vehicles were handed over to the police. Ogun State Sector Commander Oludare Ogunjobi urged drivers, especially those of articulated vehicles, to adhere to speed limits, maintain safe distances, and exercise caution, particularly during night driving due to reduced visibility and potential fatigue.
