Shan Masood to miss Pakistan's second Test against West Indies due to finger fracture

Pakistan's top-order batsman Shan Masood is set to miss the remainder of the series against the West Indies after fracturing his finger during the opening Test. Masood scored a century in the first innings at the Brian Lara Stadium but was struck by a Jayden Seales delivery, resulting in a fracture to the index finger of his left hand.

The injury forced Masood to bat lower down the order at number eight as Pakistan ultimately lost the match by 90 runs. The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed on Thursday that Masood is currently receiving treatment from the team's medical panel.

"Following a scan and clinical assessment, Shan is currently undergoing treatment from the Pakistan team medical panel," the PCB stated. "His availability for the first test against England starting August 19 at Leeds will depend on his recovery and clinical progress." Pakistan is scheduled to play a three-test series in England followed by five one-day internationals.
