Sheikh Hamdan stresses strengthening defense sector's readiness for national security

Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum chaired the second Defence Council meeting of 2026, focusing on bolstering the UAE's defense sector. The council reviewed key programs aimed at developing the defense system and improving efficiency and readiness in line with the Ministry of Defence's strategic goals.

Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the critical need to advance the defense system using the highest international standards. He highlighted the importance of strengthening readiness and efficiency across all sectors to ensure national security and protect the nation's progress. The discussions covered development and modernization plans for various defense sectors.

The meeting also addressed initiatives designed to enhance operational readiness and bolster both human and technical capabilities. Future projects supporting the Ministry of Defence's long-term priorities and development strategies were also reviewed. Lieutenant General Issa Saif Bin was among the attendees.
