Sheinbaum inspects Maya Train cargo locomotives, meets with southeastern governors

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum is advancing the Maya Train project with "conviction, honesty, and results," she stated on social media. She visited the new cargo locomotives for the Maya Train in Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, announcing the arrival of the first 12 units. These locomotives are already transporting materials for the construction of the Maya Train's cargo service.

Sheinbaum was accompanied by Gustavo Ricardo Vallejo Suárez, commander of the Engineering Group Felipe Ángeles, who is overseeing the construction of the Maya Train's cargo and passenger sections. Governors from five southeastern states, Yucatán, Quintana Roo, Campeche, Tabasco, and Chiapas, through which the passenger train will run, were also present.

The president highlighted the project's significant progress, noting that the cargo service is scheduled to inaugurate in January. This development is seen as a major boost for southeastern Mexico and the entire country.
