Shenghua Sells Stake in Xindai to Xiangshuo, Boosting AI and Automotive Cooperation

IC design firm Shenghua has strategically divested a portion of its stake in its subsidiary Xindai, bringing in Xiangshuo as the largest shareholder. Xiangshuo invested $250 million to acquire an 18.13% stake in Xindai at $50 per share. Shenghua stated the primary goal of this transaction is to activate its equity structure and optimize capital efficiency, ultimately enhancing overall shareholder value.

Following the transaction, Shenghua will retain approximately 12% of Xindai's shares, maintaining its position as a significant shareholder. The collaboration between Shenghua and Xiangshuo is expected to deepen, focusing on expanding their joint efforts in AI imaging and the automotive sector. This move is anticipated to broaden Xindai's industry reach.

With Xiangshuo, a major IC design company, becoming Xindai's largest shareholder, Xindai is poised to benefit from Xiangshuo's extensive experience and market resources in high-speed transmission interfaces, including USB, PCIe, and SATA control chips. This integration aims to create a more comprehensive solution, bridging image sensing with data transmission.

Shenghua emphasized that despite the adjusted shareholding, their long-standing cooperative relationship remains unchanged. They will continue to foster technical exchanges and product collaborations in areas such as intelligent image processing and automotive electronics. Key application scenarios include automotive image sensing, ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), and electronic rearview mirrors, as they jointly pursue opportunities in the rapidly growing markets for AI edge computing and automotive electronics.
