Shenseea tops Billboard Latin Airplay chart, a first for a Jamaican female artiste

Dancehall artist Shenseea has made history, becoming the first female Jamaican artist to top Billboard's Latin Airplay chart. Her collaboration with reggaeton star Daddy Yankee, titled "Echo (FIFA World Cup 2026)," surged from the sixth position to claim the No. 1 spot on the latest chart dated July 11.

The song's success marks a significant crossover achievement for Shenseea, bridging the gap between Caribbean music and the Latin urban genre. Produced by Tainy, Massari, and Jota Rosa, "Echo" is featured on The Official FIFA World Cup 2026 album and was released in April by SALXCO UAM and Def Jam Recordings.

While reaching the pinnacle of the Latin Airplay chart is a new milestone, Shenseea's presence on Billboard charts is not unprecedented. The song also appeared on the Rhythmic Airplay chart, indicating its broad appeal. This achievement places her in an elite group of Jamaican artists, including Sean Paul, Shaggy, and producer Rvssian, who have previously topped the Billboard Latin Airplay chart.
