Shin Bet chief approves lifelong security detail for PM Netanyahu's wife Sara - report

Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) chief David Zini has reportedly agreed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's request to provide Sara Netanyahu with lifelong security protection. Ynet reported that Zini will present his recommendation to the Ministerial Committee for Shin Bet Affairs.

However, reports from N12 News indicate that the exact duration of the security detail, whether for life or a period of five years, is still under discussion, though it is anticipated that her request will be granted. The move follows significant pressure from both Prime Minister Netanyahu and his wife, according to N12 News.

N12 News also cited security officials who suggested that Zini's appointment as Shin Bet chief was strategic, given his prior role as Netanyahu's military secretary and his close personal relationship with the prime minister and his family. The lifelong security protection is also expected to be extended to the Netanyahus' sons, Yair and Avner.
