Shinsegae Department Store Sees Record Foreign Sales in First Half

Shinsegae Department Store has achieved a historic milestone, recording its highest-ever first-half foreign customer sales at 580 billion won. This impressive figure marks a substantial 120% surge compared to the previous year's first half.

The strong performance in the first six months of 2024 has already reached approximately 90% of the total foreign sales recorded throughout the entire year of 2023, which stood at around 650 billion won. This trend suggests a significant acceleration in attracting international shoppers.

Based on the current trajectory, Shinsegae Department Store is poised to break another record by achieving annual foreign sales exceeding 1 trillion won for the first time in its history. This projection highlights the growing importance of international tourism and spending in the South Korean retail sector.
