Shooting in Kocaeli leaves three injured, four suspects arrested

A violent confrontation erupted late Tuesday evening on Piri Reis Street in the Mimar Sinan neighborhood of Gebze, Kocaeli, Turkey. The incident, which began as a dispute between two groups, escalated when individuals identified as E.K. and S.K. allegedly opened fire with handguns.

The gunfire resulted in injuries to at least three people. Y.B. and B.B. sustained gunshot wounds during the exchange, while M.K., a passerby, was also struck by a bullet. Emergency services, including police and medical teams, were dispatched to the scene following the incident. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals via ambulance, with B.B. reported to be in serious condition.

Following the shooting, the suspects fled the scene. However, law enforcement authorities quickly initiated an investigation and managed to apprehend four individuals believed to be involved. These suspects have been taken into custody as the probe into the circumstances surrounding the violent altercation continues.
