Shot fired in Willebroek center after argument; 2 arrested, no injuries

Two individuals have been arrested in the center of Willebroek, Belgium, following the firing of a shot that reportedly stemmed from an escalated discussion. The incident took place around 4 p.m. near the August Van Landeghemplein. According to Dirk Van de Sande of the police zone Rivierenland, a dispute arose between three people. Two of them fled the scene on a scooter, after which the third individual fired a shot. "Nobody was injured, but the scooter did have a flat tire," Van de Sande stated. Police conducted a search of the area and apprehended the shooter shortly thereafter. Authorities also arrested a fourth person, believed to be peripherally involved in the incident. Both suspects have been taken to the police station for questioning. A shell casing was found at the scene, and investigators are working to determine if it came from an alarm pistol or a live firearm. The weapon itself has not been recovered, and a bomb squad dog was deployed to assist in the search. The police indicated that further investigation is required to ascertain the precise circumstances surrounding the incident.
