Shots fired outside Khan Sir coaching center in Patna; educator blames rival institute

Tensions flared outside a popular coaching institute in Patna, Bihar, after shots were reportedly fired, injuring a security guard. The incident occurred Tuesday at the Khan Sir coaching center, a well-known educational hub run by educator and YouTuber Faizal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir.

Our security guard has also identified the perpetrators--it is the people from the nearby coaching center. We need protection; this is a matter for the administration to handle... It is obvious to everyone that the nearby coaching institute is behind this.

Khan Sir publicly blamed a nearby rival coaching institute for the attack, citing an alleged threat to "blow up" his center. He stated that the perpetrators were identified by his security guard as individuals associated with the competing institution. Khan Sir suggested the motive might stem from jealousy over his institute's success and affordable fees, which he believes threatens "anti-social elements."

Following the alleged firing, massive student-led protests erupted outside the coaching center. Heavy security forces were deployed to manage the situation. A CCTV clip showing stone-pelting and vandalism outside the institute, including the removal of banners, has also surfaced. Authorities are investigating the incident, collecting statements from the injured guard and local witnesses, and reviewing the provided CCTV footage.

We appeal to the administration to keep security concerns in mind, recognizing that the poor, too, have the right to an education. When results are produced in the thousands, certain anti-social elements tend to feel threatened. They think they can suppress us.
