Shuishang Township Banquet Fully Booked with 60 Tables; Out-of-Town Guests Praise Local Specialties

A local cultural event in Shuishang Township, Chiayi County, Taiwan, has become a resounding success, with its "Shuishang Township Banquet" selling out all 60 tables in just 90 seconds. The event, which blends local culture, specialty foods, and artistic expression, attracted over 700 attendees, with 30% being visitors from outside the township, all of whom praised the featured local cuisine.

Shuishang Township Mayor Lin Xiang-ting highlighted the banquet as a highly anticipated local cultural celebration. This year's menu was designed by the renowned local restaurant Xin Xing Yuan, incorporating regional ingredients such as red bone grass jelly, the century-old brand Li Li Cheng sesame oil, and local pearl rice. The dishes aimed to bring Shuishang's culinary culture to the table, with each plate carrying a strong local connection. Even the popular scallion crisp, featured in a video by YouTuber "Ordinary Girl Sun Girl," was included in the menu, with Sun Girl herself attending the banquet.

Local brands actively participated, with Xianpu Enterprise Co., Ltd. providing "Red Bone Grass Jelly Tea" and Shuishang Tea's "Magic Hand" sponsoring "Super Green Tea." Pin An Soy Pudding offered "Soy Pudding Ice Cream" as dessert, showcasing a modern take on traditional soy pudding. The event also featured visual design by acclaimed illustrator 71picture, whose work was inspired by the "Dragon Blood Legend" of Liulin Kuzhusi Temple, using a dragon motif with vibrant colors and a childlike style to interpret local folklore. Attendees were immersed in an atmosphere of faith, legend, and art.
