Shurooq, Minor Hotels team up to run ‘Sharjah Collection’

The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has joined forces with Minor Hotels in a strategic partnership to manage its homegrown 'Sharjah Collection.' This collaboration will see the global hospitality group oversee the operations of seven nature-led, heritage-inspired retreats scattered across Sharjah's diverse landscapes, including desert, coastal, and mountain areas.

Minor Hotels, known for managing over 640 properties worldwide under brands like Anantara and Tivoli, will infuse its extensive operational expertise, commercial reach, and global hospitality systems into the Sharjah Collection. The initiative is rooted in eco-tourism, cultural authenticity, and understated luxury, aiming to foster growth while meticulously preserving the collection's distinct identity, environmental consciousness, and sense of place.

The agreement, signed at the House of Wisdom in Sharjah, signifies a pivotal moment for both entities. For Shurooq, it transforms the Sharjah Collection from a group of individual retreats into a more cohesive and globally recognized hospitality platform. For Minor Hotels, it presents an opportunity to manage a unique portfolio built around the narrative of an emirate and the richness of its natural and cultural settings, rather than a conventional resort model.

The seven retreats within the Sharjah Collection, Al Badayer, Al Faya, Kingfisher, Moon, Najd Al Meqsar, Al Rayaheen, and Nomad, offer over 150 accommodation units. They are designed with environmental awareness, cultural authenticity, wellness, and meaningful engagement with their surroundings at their core. This partnership is expected to position Sharjah as a premier destination where tourism extends beyond mere accommodation to encompass discovery, identity, and human connection.
