Sinaloa Governor Inaugurates Mural Honoring Feminist Icon Amparo Ochoa

Interim Governor Graciela Domínguez Nava inaugurated a mural in Culiacán, the capital of Sinaloa, dedicated to the memory of the renowned singer Amparo Ochoa. The artwork serves as a tribute to Ochoa's significant artistic career and her lifelong commitment to various social causes.

During the inauguration, Governor Domínguez Nava, accompanied by Ochoa's daughter, María Inés Ochoa, highlighted the singer's influential role. She stated that Amparo Ochoa became a prominent figure in social struggles, effectively giving a voice to women who previously lacked one. The governor noted that Ochoa's songs brought attention to social problems and disparities, disseminating these issues through her performances across Latin America and Europe.

The ceremony was also attended by the mayor of Culiacán, Ana Miriam Ramos Villarreal.
