Sinayoko the destroyer, Marseille searching for a defense: Tops and flops from Paris FC win

Lassine Sinayoko delivered a near-perfect introduction to Paris FC. Signed from Auxerre this summer, the Mali international followed his first goal for the club with a hat-trick at Marseille, including the late penalty that secured a 3-2 victory.

The striker repeatedly found space at the heart of a Marseille defense in disarray. He showed efficiency with his finishing and complete composure from the spot. Afterward, Sinayoko celebrated the occasion as his first professional hat-trick and highlighted the particular satisfaction of scoring it in Marseille after coming from Paris.

Paris FC’s threat did not come only from its striker. Luca Koleosho caused constant problems as a wing-back, beating Nayef Aguerd in the buildup to the opening goal and repeatedly creating openings with the ball at his feet. His partnership with Pablo Pagis became one of the visitors’ strongest features. Pagis controlled the game intelligently, supplied the assist for the second goal and later played a superb ball that Kebbal narrowly failed to convert.

Marseille stayed alive through Amine Gouiri, who scored twice. His first equalizer followed a major mistake by Chergui, while his second came after a fine combination inside the Paris FC penalty area. Gouiri remained available to his teammates throughout and produced a major performance despite the defeat.

Amine Harit also offered Marseille energy from the right. More influential on the ball than in his previous outings against Strasbourg and Monaco, he repeatedly took on defenders and created openings. His pressing helped force Chergui’s mistake for Marseille’s first goal, but the team’s defensive collapse ultimately outweighed those individual contributions.
