Singapore's export sector experienced a significant boom in the second quarter of 2026, with key exports surging by an impressive 27.4%. This robust performance is largely attributed to the escalating demand for electronics, a trend amplified by the rapid expansion of the artificial intelligence industry.

The surge in electronics exports underscores Singapore's critical role in the global technology supply chain. The nation's strategic position and advanced manufacturing capabilities have enabled it to capitalize on the growing need for sophisticated electronic components powering AI development worldwide.

Further demonstrating the strength of its export market, Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) also recorded substantial growth. NODX increased by 18.6% in the first half of the year. This marks the strongest first-half performance for NODX since 2010, signaling a sustained period of export vitality and economic resilience.
