Singer Lee Mu-jin files for provisional suspension of exclusive contract over unpaid earnings

SEOUL – Singer Lee Mu-jin has initiated legal proceedings against his agency, Big Planet Made Entertainment, seeking to suspend his exclusive contract. The lawsuit, filed earlier this month, stems from the artist's claim that he has not received settlement payments for certain periods.

According to industry sources, Lee Mu-jin submitted an application for a provisional suspension of his exclusive contract to the agency in early May. He alleges non-receipt of settlement funds for the second, third, and fourth quarters of last year, as well as the first quarter of this year.

Lee Mu-jin's side stated that the purpose of the court's provisional suspension is to ensure his activities are not hindered. They are also considering whether to file a lawsuit regarding the unpaid settlement fees, taking into account Big Planet Made Entertainment's financial situation.

The singer, who gained recognition after finishing third in JTBC's 'Sing Again' Season 1, has enjoyed significant popularity with his self-composed songs like 'Traffic Light' and 'Crosswalk.' He also maintains communication with fans through his YouTube channel, 'Lee Mu Jin Service.' Lee Mu-jin signed his exclusive contract with Big Planet Made Entertainment in February 2022.
