Singer Lim Young-woong Donates $145,000 to Flood Victims in Southern Regions

South Korean singer Lim Young-woong has made a significant contribution to help those impacted by severe flooding in the country's southern areas. Through his fan club, he donated 200 million won (approximately $145,000 USD) to the Community Chest of Korea, a prominent social welfare organization.

The donation is earmarked for the 'Special Flood Damage Relief Fund 2026' and will be directed towards emergency aid, temporary shelter, and the long-term recovery process for residents in affected southern regions, including the cities of Geoje and Tongyeong. As of July 22nd, over 691 people from 368 households in these areas remained displaced, with emergency measures completed for 1,326 out of 1,965 damaged facilities.

Lim Young-woong expressed his deep sympathy for neighbors who lost precious belongings and are enduring anxious times due to the sudden downpour. He conveyed his hope that the affected residents can quickly regain their normal lives. This act of generosity is part of a consistent pattern of charitable giving by the singer, who has been donating through the Community Chest of Korea since 2021.

Including this latest donation, his cumulative contributions to the organization have reached 2.5 billion won. When combined with a separate 200 million won donation made directly to Korea University Medical Center for his birthday this year, his total charitable giving amounts to approximately 2.7 billion won. His continuous support highlights a strong commitment to aiding those in need.
