Sinjska Alka Tickets Sell Out in One Minute, Frustrating Many

Tickets for this year's Sinjska alka, a traditional Croatian knightly tournament, have sold out at an unprecedented speed, making history before the jousters even entered the arena. When tickets were released for online purchase for the first time, demand was so immense that nearly 80 percent of all available seats were sold within the first minute.

The City of Sinj announced on social media that sales began precisely at 12:00 PM, and by 12:01 PM, around 4,000 tickets had been sold. "Today we are witnessing two historic moments. For the first time in the history of the Sinjska alka, tickets have been released for online sale. And, it seems, a second historic moment, sales started at 12:00, and by 12:01, almost 80 percent of the capacity was sold out, meaning about 4,000 tickets in just one minute. If this is indeed a real sale, such a sales pace has rarely, if ever, been recorded," the City of Sinj stated.

Following the announcement, numerous comments from citizens who were unable to secure tickets quickly began appearing below the post. The ticketing system showed that after the initial rush, only a small number of seats remained available in the stands, priced at 30 and 50 euros.
