Sinner defeats Djokovic 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to reach Wimbledon finals

Italian star Jannik Sinner has reached his second consecutive Wimbledon men's singles final after an emphatic straight-sets victory over world number one Novak Djokovic. Sinner delivered a commanding performance on Friday, defeating the seven-time Wimbledon champion 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 at the All England Club.

The match lasted two hours and 20 minutes, with Sinner avenging his semi-final loss to Djokovic at the Australian Open earlier this year. This victory marks their only previous meeting in 2026, and Sinner's composed display secured his spot in the championship match.

We always have very tough matches, and the last one he won in the semis in Australia. So I tried to make a couple of adjustments, even though here on grass it is very difficult.

Sinner, who won his first Wimbledon title in 2025 by defeating Carlos Alcaraz, will now face Alexander Zverev in Sunday's final. If Sinner successfully defends his crown, he and Alcaraz will have claimed 10 of the last 11 major titles, with Zverev's recent Roland Garros win being the sole exception. Sinner noted the difficulty of playing Djokovic, especially on grass, and expressed happiness with his aggressive strategy and strong serving performance.

He had a very tough match, the last one against Felix, which we will remember I think forever here in this arena. I tried to stay quite aggressive, serving very well which helped me a lot today. He's probably the best returner we have in our game, so I tried to mix it up. I'm very happy about today's performance.
