Sint-Truiden Stadium Undergoes Safety Upgrades After Fan Incident

The stadium in Sint-Truiden is receiving extra adjustments to improve safety and fan separation following an incident where projectiles were thrown between supporters of STVV and Lommel SK. The modifications, scheduled for completion within two days, include the installation of nets to create a clearer division between home and visiting fans.

These changes are necessitated by the temporary relocation of the visiting supporters. Due to the demolition of the former visitors' stand, fans are now situated in a different section, adjacent to the home supporters. "Last Sunday, during the STVV-Lommel SK match, supporters threw cups from the home section to the visiting section, or vice versa. The mayor emphasized that these are minor adjustments he personally mandated, which must be completed quickly. He expressed confidence that the stadium will be fully approved for upcoming European matches after these issues are resolved.
