‘Sivas’ın Yolları’ Drives Warm Response to Kanal D’s New Series ‘Haysiyet’

The preview for Kanal D’s new series ‘Haysiyet’ has received an enthusiastic response, with viewers praising its neighborhood warmth, Yeşilçam echoes and strong family story. The trailer uses the folk song ‘Sivas’ın Yolları’ and carries the slogan, “You cannot finish the road by carrying burdens and walking.”

Scenes set in Balat’s colorful streets feature Kerem Alışık and Gökberk Yıldırım, who play father and son, singing the folk song. Viewers praised the choice, saying the song made them feel emotional and that the neighborhood seemed truly alive.

The Karlıova family appears together in scenes that recall the warm atmosphere of classic Turkish films. A red delivery truck marked “Uğurum 58” also stands out. The family climbs down from its truck bed together, then appears outside a luxurious mansion.

‘Haysiyet’ centers on Mehmet, played by Doğukan Güngör, and Simay, played by Merih Öztürk. Although they live in the same city, they come from entirely different worlds. The series follows their seemingly impossible love and the tension between love and dignity. Music by Kıraç is another prominent feature, bringing joy and sadness together in melodies that reinforce the story’s emotional atmosphere.

Eda Teksöz directs the series, which was filmed in Balat. Ali Gündoğdu and İnci Gündoğdu produced it for Süreç Film. The cast also includes Reha Özcan, Nergis Öztürk, Burak Çelik and other performers. The series premieres Tuesday evening, Sept. 8, on Kanal D.
