Six suspected cultists arrested after Ekiti hotel raid

Police in Ekiti State, Nigeria, have arrested six suspected members of the Alora cult group following a violent clash at a hotel in Ikere Ekiti. The confrontation occurred early Saturday morning when members of the cult, gathered for a meeting, engaged in a physical fight.

Following the incident, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, in collaboration with surveillance operatives of Ilupeju Division, swooped on the scene, which resulted in the arrest of six suspects.

Items recovered from the suspects include a Toyota Camry car, two fez caps with the Alora logo, three plastic cups bearing the Alora logo, a blood-stained shirt, a pair of scissors, a yellow headband, and a key holder with the Alora logo. The Commissioner of Police, Michael Falade, has ordered an intensified investigation into the incident.

The police command is actively searching for other suspects who fled the scene. Additionally, the hotel where the meeting took place is under investigation for allegedly permitting its premises to be used for suspected secret cult activities. Commissioner Falade reiterated the command's zero tolerance for cultism and violent crime, assuring residents of proactive measures to protect lives and property and maintain peace across the state. He urged the public to provide timely and credible information to aid in apprehending the remaining suspects and other criminals.
