Six Venezuelan Men Expelled from Bucaramanga for Repeated Infractions

Authorities in Bucaramanga, Colombia, have expelled six Venezuelan men from the city due to their cumulative accumulation of over 140 infractions against local regulations. The operation, conducted in conjunction with Migración Colombia, targeted individuals identified as committing offenses in public spaces.

Mayor Cristian Portilla confirmed the expulsions, noting that one of the expelled individuals had a history of prior expulsion from the city but had re-entered Colombia. This person is also facing charges for fraud and a judicial resolution. The city administration highlighted that a total of 75 expulsion orders have been issued in 2026, continuing a policy initiated by the previous mayor to address issues related to foreign nationals engaging in criminal activities.

During a joint operation in Centenario Park, authorities apprehended a Venezuelan citizen who was repeatedly violating Colombian laws. This individual had previously been expelled months earlier for similar infringements but returned to the country. The VIMA device, provided by the Mayor's office and Migración Colombia, facilitated the immediate identification of the repeat offender.

Portilla emphasized that such individuals must answer for their actions both in their home country and under Colombian law. The recent apprehension marks another instance within the city's ongoing expulsion efforts aimed at maintaining order and deterring crime.
