Siya’s brother knew of her relationship with Chetan: Police

Police investigating the suspected murder of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal, who died after falling from Lohagad Fort on June 18, have revealed that the fiancée's brother was aware of her relationship with a co-accused. Sahil Goyal, brother of the accused Siya Goyal, told investigators that he knew about his sister's relationship with Chetan Chaudhary.

Sahil told us he had learnt about Siya and Chetan’s relationship several months ago. Concerned about its implications, he advised his sister to end the relationship since she was already engaged to Ketan.

Sahil Goyal reportedly advised his sister to end the relationship with Chetan, as she was engaged to Ketan Agarwal. According to a senior police officer who requested anonymity, Sahil learned about Siya and Chetan's relationship several months ago and expressed concern about its implications. He stated that he advised his sister to break it off due to her engagement.

Ketan had undergone expensive hair treatment for his hair-loss condition. Ketan’s family has claimed that the Goyal family had been informed that he wore a small hair patch.

Investigators are piecing together the sequence of events, having recorded statements from 10 individuals, including an employee at Chetan's shop. Family members of both the accused and the victim have been taken to the fort to aid in reconstructing the timeline. Police are treating the case as a suspected murder, with Siya and Chetan currently in police custody.

Siya told her that she did not want to go trekking as there was a function the following day and she wanted to rest.

Further complicating the investigation, police found that the accused allegedly deleted their phone chats and emptied recycle bins before and after the crime. Their phones have been sent for forensic analysis to recover deleted data. Meanwhile, Siya's mother, Pooja Goyal, claimed her daughter was reluctant to go to Lohagad Fort and only agreed after Ketan's mother persuaded her. She maintained that her daughter never expressed dissatisfaction with the marriage and that the family was unaware of Chetan's involvement.
