What was initially treated as a tragic trekking accident has unraveled into an alleged murder conspiracy involving a young woman and her boyfriend, just months before her wedding. Police in Pune have arrested Siya Goyal, 20, and her alleged boyfriend, Chetan Chaudhary, 22, for the murder of Goyal's fiancé, Ketan Vishal Agarwal.

Investigators claim that Goyal and Chaudhary conspired to push the 25-year-old Agarwal into a 400-foot gorge with the intent to kill him. The arrests have brought to light warning signs that Agarwal's family believes were overlooked. These included Agarwal's concerns about Goyal's behavior, her frequent phone use, and her apparent closeness to another man.

Ketan's father, Vishal Agarwal, told Hindustan Times that Ketan had expressed doubts about Goyal after their engagement in February. "After the engagement in February, Ketan and Siya met frequently and went out together. At times, Ketan expressed concerns about Siya, and asked us whether we had properly verified her antecedents," he said. Despite these concerns, Vishal reassured his son, stating, "But as her family was related to us through our extended family network, I reassured him that everything was fine."

The family had considered delaying the wedding due to Goyal's young age, but her parents insisted on proceeding, citing the difficulty of finding a match like Ketan for their daughter.

However, police allege that while these preparations progressed, Siya was in a relationship with Chaudhary. Chaudhary's family also runs a business in the same commercial area as Goyal's father's business.
