SK AX and KEPCO E&C partner for AI innovation in power and energy sector

SK AX is partnering with Korea Electric Power Technology (KEPCO E&C) to drive AI-driven innovation within the power and energy sector. The collaboration aims to enhance operational efficiency through AI-powered optimization, covering everything from power plant design to maintenance, thereby strengthening the industry's capacity to meet escalating energy demands.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the two companies, formalizing their commitment to integrate AI into various aspects of the power and energy industry. This partnership recognizes the sector's complex data and intricate workflows, emphasizing the need for tailored AI solutions beyond simple implementation.

SK AX's expertise in AI implementation, combined with KEPCO E&C's extensive engineering knowledge, is expected to unlock significant operational optimizations and AI augmentation across the entire value chain. The companies plan a phased approach, starting with back-office functions and gradually moving towards core business areas like power plant design and operation.

Key initiatives include the adoption of SK AX's AI platforms, such as 'AXgenticWire AiPMO' for project management and 'AXgenticWire NPO Agent Builder' for creating custom AI agents. These tools will support tasks like proposal management, schedule and cost control, risk assessment, and document review, aiming to boost productivity. The collaboration also extends to co-developing AI-specific projects, including an offshore wind O&M platform designed for both domestic and global markets, and optimizing offshore wind farm designs.
