SK Chairman Chey Tae-won Earns 1.75 Billion Won in First Half, Same as Last Year

Chey Tae-won, the chairman of South Korea's SK Group, received 1.75 billion won (approximately $1.2 million USD) in compensation from SK Inc. during the first half of 2026. This figure matches the amount he received during the corresponding period in the previous year, indicating a stable compensation structure.

According to SK's semi-annual report, Chey's compensation for the first six months consisted solely of his base salary. The company stated that his annual base salary was determined to be 3.5 billion won, reflecting his position as CEO and chairman, leadership, expertise, and contributions to the company. This results in a monthly payment of approximately 292 million won.

No bonuses or additional incentives were awarded to Chey during this period. The compensation package remains consistent with the previous year, when he also received 1.75 billion won in the first half based on the same annual base salary of 3.5 billion won, without any separate bonuses.

The report detailing Chey's earnings was released following his participation in the San Francisco AI Summit, held on July 24, 2026, at The Midway in San Francisco.
