Bilić is reportedly being offered a two-year contract, which would keep him in charge until the conclusion of the 2028 European Championship. This move signifies a fresh start for the team, following the tenure of Dalić, who is described as the most successful coach in the nation's history.

This will be Bilić's second stint as head coach, having previously managed the squad from 2006 to 2012.
