Snoopy traffic signals installed around Taichung's ShuiNan Transfer Center

Taichung's ShuiNan Transfer Center is now open, and the city's Transportation Bureau is adding a touch of whimsy to its surroundings. New Snoopy-themed pedestrian signals have been installed at two key intersections near the center: "Jingmao 9th Road/Jingmao 2nd Road" and "Zhongke Road/Liming Road." These additions aim to connect the area with the Taichung International Exhibition Center and the Green Museum Library.

The bureau has been integrating popular international intellectual property characters into its traffic signals. Beyond the standard "little green man" pedestrian icon and countdown timers, these signals feature a third screen displaying beloved characters like Snoopy, Olaf, Charlie Brown, and Woodstock. They use lively animations and graphics to convey traffic safety concepts.

Taichung City's recently launched characteristic pedestrian signals, in addition to maintaining the original "little green man" and "countdown timer" traffic information display functions, have also added a third display screen, combining internationally renowned IPs like Snoopy, Olaf, Charlie Brown, and Woodstock, classic characters, to promote traffic safety concepts with lively and dynamic animations and images.

Currently, 12 intersections across Taichung feature these "Snoopy family" signals. Each location showcases different characters and unique animations tailored to the area. For instance, Olaf is depicted searching for food in the Yizhong shopping district, Woodstock rushes to class near Chung Shan Medical University, Snoopy with a suitcase appears near Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department store, and Charlie Brown practices catching a ball near the Intercontinental Han-Shen department store. These characters are integrated into the urban landscape, reflecting the unique characteristics of each neighborhood.

The installation of these charming signals is part of an effort to enhance the visual appeal of the city while promoting crucial traffic safety messages in a fun and engaging way.

Currently, there are 12 intersections in the city with Snoopy family pedestrian signals, distributed in major living hubs such as Yizhong shopping district, Fengjia shopping district, Taichung Veterans General Hospital, Changhua Christian Hospital, Chung Shan Medical University, China Medical University, around the Taiwan Boulevard Municipal Building, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, Intercontinental Han-Shen Department Store, and ShuiNan Transfer Center, with intersections featuring different Snoopy characters and exclusive animations.
