Social media warnings about 'The Heavenly Gang' target M'diq

A wave of warnings is circulating on social media platforms in Morocco's northern coastal city of M'diq, concerning a group referred to as "Assabat Al-Samawi" or "The Heavenly Gang." Residents and visitors are being urged to exercise caution, particularly during nighttime hours.

According to the social media posts, alleged members of this group approach individuals stopped in their vehicles, especially in secluded locations. They reportedly initiate conversations with drivers or touch their shoulders. Claims circulating online suggest that targets might subsequently feel dizzy or experience an unusual loss of concentration and awareness.

These online warnings have generated a sense of unease among many residents and visitors in M'diq, a popular destination during the summer vacation season. Despite the widespread circulation of these alerts, official security bodies have yet to release any statements confirming the existence of "Assabat Al-Samawi" or reporting any related arrests or victims. The Moroccan authorities have not publicly acknowledged the alleged incidents or provided any official guidance on the matter.
