Soldiers repel bandits’ attack in Kebbi

Troops of the Nigerian Army successfully repelled an attack by suspected bandits targeting construction workers in Tsatsunbe village, located in Southern Kebbi State. The incident occurred on Friday, August 14, 2026, following intelligence received about the impending attack.

On 14 August 2026, troops, following a tip-off on a bandits’ attack on construction workers at Tsatsunbe village in Southern Kebbi, launched a swift counter-attack on the terrorists.

Lt. Col. Olaniyi Osoba, spokesperson for the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, reported that the troops responded with swift counter-action upon receiving the distress call. Engaging the attackers with superior firepower, the soldiers forced the bandits to retreat in disarray. During the subsequent exploitation of the area, three motorcycles left behind by the fleeing assailants were recovered.

Accordingly, troops engaged the bandits with superior firepower, forcing the terrorists to withdraw in disarray. During exploitation, troops recovered three abandoned motorcycles.

The construction workers, who had sought refuge in nearby bushes during the assault, were safely located and rescued by the troops. They have since returned to their camp. The operation, conducted under the banner of Operation Clean Sweep IV, underscores the ongoing efforts by the army to safeguard communities, workers, and critical infrastructure against criminal elements in the region.
