Son Allegedly Stabs Mother, Then Himself in Bursa; Police Intervene

A shocking incident unfolded in Bursa, Turkey, early Tuesday morning, where a man allegedly attacked his mother and then himself with a knife. The event took place around 4 a.m. in the İntizam neighborhood of the Osmangazi district.

Authorities report that İsmail S., who is said to be experiencing psychological issues, entered a state of rage at his home for reasons yet to be determined. During this episode, he allegedly stabbed his mother, Ayşe S., and subsequently inflicted stab wounds upon himself.

Neighbors alerted emergency services after hearing the commotion. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, officers encountered İsmail S. resisting with a knife in his hand. After subduing the suspect, who reportedly struck his head against the window of a parked taxi, police handed him over to medical personnel.

Ayşe S. was transported to Çekirge State Hospital for initial treatment, while İsmail S. was taken to Bursa Yüksek İhtisas Training and Research Hospital. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
