Son of woman suspected in baby's death to be summoned for questioning

An investigation into the deaths of three young girls in Villa Gesell is set to include the testimony of one of the suspect mother's nine children. Lucía Sosa is under scrutiny following the recent death of her two-year-old daughter, Isabella, on July 21. Isabella was reportedly brought to the Municipal Hospital of Villa Gesell without vital signs, with initial reports suggesting asphyxiation while drinking a bottle.

Sosa has a history of similar tragedies. Her daughter Candela died in 2013 at six months old, and Yazmín died in 2016 at 11 months. The prosecutor, Juan Pablo Calderón, has charged both Sosa and her current partner, Héctor Aguirre, although the investigation is focusing on Sosa due to her past. The couple's 17-year-old son, Lucas, who was previously removed from Sosa's care along with three siblings after Yazmín's death, stated unequivocally, "She killed my three sisters." He expressed a desire to see her imprisoned or institutionalized.

Investigators have contacted Lucas, who will soon be of legal age, to obtain his statement. His experiences are considered crucial to the investigation, as he reportedly witnessed situations that support the hypothesis of Sosa's responsibility in the deaths of these children. The couple is currently free pending the investigation, which is examining causes of death. Preliminary autopsy reports suggest Isabella may have drowned in milk while drinking from a bottle, possibly while her mother was in another part of the house.

The couple's four-year-old son has been placed in a shelter home, and authorities are considering whether he will be interviewed in Cámara Gesell. He may be the sole eyewitness to Isabella's critical moments. Currently, judicial sources indicate there is no firm evidence of intentional homicide, suggesting charges might be limited to negligent homicide or abandonment of a person leading to death.
