Vincent Pastore, a veteran actor celebrated for his portrayals of mobsters and tough characters, has died at the age of 80. Pastore was most widely recognized for his role as Salvatore Bonpensiero, a pivotal character in the acclaimed HBO series “The Sopranos.”

His manager, Bob McGowan, confirmed the news, stating that Pastore was found in his home on New York’s City Island. McGowan remembered Pastore as an exceptionally loyal client who consistently supported charitable causes and was always willing to help others, a rarity in the entertainment industry.

Robert Attermann, who represented Pastore for over three decades, shared that the actor was one of the kindest and most generous individuals he had ever encountered. Attermann emphasized Pastore's genuine appreciation for his fans, always making time for photographs and autographs, and his deep passion for acting, which he shared by mentoring young actors.

Pastore's career spanned decades, with early roles in films like “Goodfellas” and “Awakenings.” His 30-episode run as Bonpensiero, Tony Soprano's friend who becomes an FBI informant, remains his most iconic role. Born in the Bronx, Pastore served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and later attended Pace University.
