South Australian Principal Cleared of Misconduct Allegations

Tamarin Condon, the former principal of Wallaroo Mines Primary School in South Australia, has been officially cleared of misconduct by the Education Department. Condon was suspended from her position in Kadina in November following an online petition that called for a review of her leadership and raised concerns about alleged unprofessional behavior.

The Department for Education has concluded its investigation. No misconduct was identified.

Reports at the time indicated that Condon had invited her husband, Simon Condon, to assist at a school camp. While he had previously worked as a student support officer, he was not employed by the school. The Education Department stated that its investigation found no misconduct. A spokesperson confirmed that a new principal has been appointed to the school and declined to comment further due to privacy reasons.

During the investigation, parents reported that Education Department officials questioned students who attended the camp about Condon's conduct. Some parents had also contacted SA Police, who confirmed awareness of the matter but stated no investigation was active at that time. Condon's lawyer, Luke Officer, welcomed the findings, emphasizing that allegations are only proven when substantiated and that public commentary can unfairly damage reputations. He noted that the department's thorough investigation and conclusion of no misconduct provide closure for his client.
