South Korea announces key government appointments across ministries

South Korea's government has announced a series of appointments and promotions across several key ministries, signaling shifts in administrative leadership. The Ministry of Interior and Safety appointed Shim Jin-hong as the new Director of the Daejeon Government Complex Management Office.

Further personnel changes were seen at the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, with Kim Min-yong taking on the role of Public Relations Director. The ministry also appointed Lee Sam-jin as Director of the National Yeongcheon National Cemetery and Park Young-min as Director of the National Sancheong National Cemetery. Several other division director positions were filled through transfers.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced promotions for Choi Bong-geun to Director General for Elderly Policy and Jang Jae-won to Director General for Social Services Policy. The ministry also made appointments and transfers at the division director level, including Kim Young-ah as Director of the Disease Policy Division and Park Jae-chan as Director of the Medical Resources Division.

In other government news, Ryu Jong-young was appointed as Spokesperson for the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and Jung Do-hyun as Director General for Maritime Safety. The National Museum of Korea appointed Park Ki-hong as Head of the Administrative Operations Office. The Korea Research Foundation appointed Jang Young-chae as Head of the Medical Division.
