South Korea Lottery: 13 Winners Share 2.2 Billion Won Jackpot

A total of 13 individuals have become millionaires after winning the first prize in South Korea's 1239th lottery draw. The winning numbers announced on Sunday were 11, 13, 22, 32, 33, and 36, with the bonus ball being 8.

Each of the 13 first-prize winners will receive a substantial 2,214,789,375 Korean won (approximately $1.6 million USD). The lottery also saw 71 second-prize winners, who matched five main numbers plus the bonus ball, each taking home 67,587,470 won.

Further down the prize tiers, 3,081 players matched five main numbers to win 1,557,518 won each. The fourth prize, awarded for matching four main numbers, went to 152,825 individuals who each received a fixed prize of 50,000 won. The fifth prize, for matching three main numbers, was claimed by 2,570,542 people, each receiving 5,000 won.

Of the 13 winning tickets for the top prize, 10 were generated through automatic selection, suggesting a stroke of luck for those who simply chose their numbers randomly. Two winners purchased their tickets manually, and one was a semi-automatic purchase, indicating a mix of player choices led to the fortunate outcomes.
