South Korea's August Apartment Move-Ins to Reach 14,342 Units; Seoul Sees Largest Share

South Korea is anticipating 14,342 apartment move-ins across the country in August, a figure comparable to July's total. The real estate platform Zigbang reported that this number represents a 3.4% increase compared to August of the previous year.

The Seoul metropolitan area will account for a significant portion, with 8,924 units scheduled for occupancy. This includes 3,540 units in Seoul itself, largely driven by the completion of the 2,091-unit Banpo Raemian Triune complex in Seocho District. Other Seoul areas with upcoming move-ins are Magok District 17 Complex in Gangseo District (577 units) and Hillstate Mapo The First in Mapo District (488 units).

In Gyeonggi Province, a total of 5,384 units are expected, with Pyeongtaek City leading with 2,230 units, followed by Suwon City (2,178 units), Icheon City (558 units), and Paju City (418 units). Incheon has no new apartment move-ins scheduled for August.

Outside the capital region, provincial areas will see 5,418 new apartment units become available. Chungnam Province will have 2,059 units, including the 1,626-unit Asan Tangjeong Prugio River Park. Gangwon Province will add 1,668 units, featuring the 874-unit Chuncheon Lake City IPARK and the 794-unit Gangneung Ocean City IPARK.
