South Korean ministries announce personnel appointments and promotions

Several South Korean government ministries have announced a series of appointments and promotions, signaling shifts in leadership across key departments.

The Ministry of Science and ICT has appointed new division chiefs, including Jeon Seung-yoon as head of the Bio-Convergence Innovation Team and Yoon Ji-young as head of the R&D Feasibility Review Team.

In diplomatic circles, Chae Ye-rim has been appointed as the head of the Development Strategy and Private Cooperation Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs has seen promotions to the Level 3 grade, with Kang Woon-cheol becoming the head of Veteran Organization Cooperation within the Veteran Organization Cooperation Office, and Park Kyung-mi appointed as head of Welfare Services in the Veteran Medical and Welfare Bureau. Kang Sung-mi has also been appointed to the Veteran Support Division within the Ministry of Employment and Veteran Affairs.

Further changes are evident in the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. Jang Myo-in has been promoted to Director-General of the National Marine Research Institute, and Oh Young-rok has been appointed as Chief Investigator at the Central Maritime Safety Appeals Review Board. Additionally, Do Yoon-jeong, Kang Hee-jeong, and Sung Yeol-san have been appointed as division chiefs for Fisheries Policy, Aquaculture Industry, and Marine Leisure and Tourism, respectively.

The Ministry of Personnel Management has also announced several promotions, including Choi Young-moon to Senior Specialist in the Examination Development Division of the Talent Recruitment Bureau, and Kim Chang-hee, Lee Sun-tae, Nam Sang-min, Lee Hyun-young, Seo Yu-jin, and Kim Kwang-jin to various director-level positions. Kim Doo-hwan, Son Seo-young, and Jeon Yong-bae have been appointed to roles within the Planning and Coordination Office and the Public Employee Labor-Management Cooperation Office.

Beyond government ministries, the Korea Research Foundation has appointed Han Baek-soo as head of the Brain and Advanced Medical Engineering Division. At Sangji University, Yoo Su-jeong has been appointed as Vice President for Educational Research, and Kim Sang-ho as Vice President for External Cooperation.
