South Korean President Lee Jae-myung has officially commenced his state visit to Brazil, marked by a formal welcome ceremony held at the presidential residence in Brasilia. This visit signifies a deepening of diplomatic ties between the two nations.

President Lee and his wife, Kim Hye-kyung, were greeted by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and his wife, Rosângela da Silva. The reunion occurred approximately one month after the leaders last met at the G7 summit. The welcoming reception featured a display of Brazilian tradition and military honor, with cavalry and honor guards lining the route to the presidential palace, and traditional attire worn by the honor guard contingent.

Upon arrival, President Lee's motorcade was escorted by a cavalry unit. Presidents Lee and Lula, along with their spouses, met on the red carpet.
