Southern Penghu Islands transport ship suspended; Wang'an Township Office charters boats for service

Transportation services connecting Taiwan's outlying Southern Penghu Islands have been halted for several days, causing significant concern among local residents and various stakeholders. The situation has prompted the Wang'an Township Office to take action to ensure continued access for the community.

In response to the ongoing disruptions, the Wang'an Township Office announced plans to charter boats to serve as a temporary replacement for the suspended services. This measure aims to uphold the travel rights of residents who rely on the ferry services for daily commutes and essential travel.

The township office stated it is actively supervising the contracted operator responsible for the "Wang'an Star" ferry service. It is ensuring the company adheres to its contractual obligations and maintains the necessary standards for public transportation.
