Southern qualifying round concludes, quarter-final pairings set for Vietnamese Workers and Civil Servants Football Championship 2026

The final group stage matches of the Southern qualifying round for the 2026 Vietnamese Workers and Civil Servants Football Championship concluded on June 9, setting the stage for the quarterfinals.

In Group E, the Southern Construction and Installation of Petrochemicals of Southern Vietnam (PVC-MS) secured a decisive 8-0 victory against the Vietnam Rubber Association, clinching the top spot and a quarter-final berth. Meanwhile, the match between Dong Nai 1 Trade Union and SAWACO ended in a 1-1 draw, holding little significance for advancement.

Group F also saw a dominant performance from Dong Nai 3 Trade Union, who, despite already securing first place, fielded a less experienced team but still triumphed 8-2 over Dong Nai 3 Trade Union. Tay Ninh 1 Trade Union defeated Biwase Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union 4-2 in the other group match.

The eight teams advancing to the quarterfinals and the national finals are Gia Lai Trade Union, Dong Nai 2 Trade Union, Thanh Thang Thang Long Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union, SACOMBANK, Dong Nai 4 Trade Union, Quang Ngai Trade Union, PVC-MS, and Dong Nai 3 Trade Union. The quarter-final pairings are: Gia Lai Trade Union vs. Thanh Thang Thang Long Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union; Dong Nai 2 Trade Union vs. Quang Ngai Trade Union; SACOMBANK vs. Dong Nai 4 Trade Union; and PVC-MS vs. Dong Nai 3 Trade Union.

Organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Tuổi Trẻ Newspaper in collaboration with the Vietnam Football Federation, the tournament is in its fourth iteration. It has grown to include 48 teams from across the country, solidifying its reputation as a prestigious annual event for workers. The championship offers a total prize pool of 900 million VND, with the national champion receiving 200 million VND. This year's event is notably supported by THACO as the diamond sponsor, alongside other partners like Revive Sports Drink, Dong Luc Sports Group, VTVcab, and FPT Play, all contributing to the tournament's humanistic values and community spirit.
