Spain’s Roberto Moreno appointed interim coach of South Korea’s national football team for six matches

Roberto Moreno will take charge of South Korea’s men’s national football team as interim coach for six international matches, the Korea Football Association said.

The association approved Moreno’s appointment and the selection of five additional coaching staff members at a board meeting in Cheonan. The men’s national team coaching position had been vacant since the World Cup.

Moreno served as an assistant coach and head coach of Spain from 2018 to 2019. He also worked as FC Barcelona’s assistant coach from 2014 to 2017. The association highlighted his experience with major club and national teams, as well as his use of data in tactical planning and analysis of opponents.

His most recent job was coaching Russia’s FC Sochi during the 2024-25 season. The interim staff will include assistant coach Eduardo Docampo, who worked with Moreno at Sochi, along with analysts and training-methodology specialists.
