Spanish Cyclist Eduardo Sepúlveda Wins Dhofar Classic

Spanish cyclist Eduardo Sepúlveda won the Dhofar Classic in Oman, a 98-kilometre race held as part of the sixth Salalah International Cycling Tour.

The race began at Al Haffa Souq, passed through Darbat Waterfalls and ended in Hajeef. Brazil’s Nicolas Sessler finished second, while Colombia’s Edinson Alejandro took third. Li Ning Star was named the best team.

Organized by Dhofar Municipality in cooperation with the Oman Cycling Federation, the event featured 80 riders representing 16 regional and international teams. Organizers said it aims to attract professional one-day-race teams, broaden Oman’s competitive cycling calendar and promote Dhofar as a tourism destination through international exposure.

Oman Cycling Federation Chairman Saif bin Sabaa Al Rashidi presented the awards. The first stage of the wider tour will run from Mughsayl to Mirbat Fort over 127 kilometres. The third stage will cover 156 kilometres from Taqah Fort to the Samhan Mountain viewpoint, while the 105-kilometre final stage will finish at Salalah’s Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment.
