Spanish Prosecutors to Investigate Video of Minors Assaulting Child in Moguer

Spanish authorities are investigating a disturbing video that surfaced online, showing four underage minors physically and verbally assaulting another child in Moguer, Huelva. The Andalusian Audiovisual Council (CAA) has escalated the matter to the Prosecutor's Office for Computer Crime, citing the "massive" diffusion of the video on TikTok. The council believes the images could severely impact those involved and necessitate official intervention. In addition to reporting the incident to prosecutors, the CAA has also filed a complaint with TikTok, urging the platform to remove the video. They argue that its continued presence amplifies the harm to the victim and promotes extreme violence. The video depicts minors verbally abusing and physically attacking another child while the assault is recorded and shared. The CAA emphasized that the viralization of such violent content, particularly involving minors, violates fundamental rights to child protection, privacy, and image. They stressed the crucial role digital platforms play in safeguarding users, especially children, and called for swift action to remove harmful content and cooperate with authorities.
