Spectator collapses at baseball game, recovers consciousness

A baseball game between the Kiwoom Heroes and SSG Landers in Incheon was briefly interrupted on Thursday when a spectator collapsed and lost consciousness. The incident occurred at the SSG Landers Field, prompting immediate medical intervention.

According to the SSG Landers club, the spectator collapsed around 6:45 PM. Medical staff quickly administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and used an automated external defibrillator (AED) on the individual. Following these efforts, the spectator regained consciousness before being transported to a nearby hospital via ambulance.

The game was halted for approximately four minutes, starting at 6:48 PM, to allow for the medical emergency to be addressed. Play resumed shortly thereafter. However, the match faced another delay later in the second inning due to rain, which caused a further 27-minute suspension starting at 6:59 PM.

In the baseball action, the Kiwoom Heroes ultimately lost to the SSG Landers with a score of 6-7, marking their second consecutive loss. The Heroes' starting pitcher, Bae Dong-hyun, struggled, giving up seven runs in 4⅓ innings and throwing 91 pitches. The SSG Landers, meanwhile, secured their second consecutive win, with their offense generating 11 hits, including four by Choi Jeong.
