Speeding driver causes multi-car crash in San Joaquín, flees scene

A chaotic scene unfolded in San Joaquín, Chile, after a speeding driver caused a multi-vehicle pile-up before fleeing the location. The incident occurred at the intersection of Vicuña Mackenna and Capitán Prat, where three cars were waiting for the traffic light to change.

According to police reports, the speeding vehicle violently struck the rear of the three stationary cars. The impact was significant, leading to the collision. Immediately after causing the crash, the driver abandoned the vehicles involved and escaped from the scene, leaving behind the damage and potential injuries.

Authorities responded to the incident, with Major Oscar Llantén of the 50th San Joaquín Police Station confirming that at least four individuals were inside the three affected vehicles. One woman was taken to a nearby medical facility for evaluation as a precautionary measure, though the extent of her injuries was not immediately clear. The police are investigating the hit-and-run.
