This extended losing streak has seen the Landers plummet to eighth place in the league standings. The team's struggles in May have been particularly severe, with 20 losses against only 5 wins and 1 draw. This tally places them second for the most losses in a single month in KBO history, surpassed only by the Kiwoom Heroes' 22 losses in May 2025.

Despite a decent outing from starting pitcher Shota Takeda, who pitched five innings allowing two runs, the SSG bullpen faltered. The team lost the lead in the seventh inning and conceded three more runs in the eighth, sealing their fate in the game against the Eagles.

Meanwhile, the Hanwha Eagles celebrated a weekend sweep, extending their winning streak to four games. No-Si-hwan and Kang Baek-ho were standout performers for the Eagles, contributing significantly to their offense.
