Stars grace final red carpet of 79th Cannes Film Festival

After eleven days celebrating cinema, the 79th Cannes Film Festival officially concluded on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Stars gathered for the final red carpet appearances and the highly anticipated awards ceremony, where the Palme d'Or winner would be announced. The previous evening saw the screening of the final competition film, Léa Mysius's "Histoires de la nuit," which also featured a notable red carpet presence.

Attendees on the final night included prominent figures from the film industry. L'Oréal Paris ambassadors Eva Longoria and Léna Mahfouf were present, alongside actresses featured in this year's competition films. Among them were Virginie Efira, who appeared in "Soudain," and Penélope Cruz, a star of "La Bola Negra."

American actress Geena Davis, whose image is featured on this year's festival poster from "Thelma & Louise," also made a significant appearance. Davis was scheduled to present an award during the closing ceremony, as were Xavier Dolan, Pierfrancesco Favino, Gael García Bernal, Nadine Labaki, and Zoe Saldaña. Jury member Tilda Swinton had the honor of presenting the prestigious Palme d'Or.
